Give Back: The Compassion Project
Updated: Jun 30, 2020
Ang Hill supports a charity called the Compassion Project.
$5 from the sale of every ya luk gud tee goes directly to this charity. The Compassion Project was locally co-founded by an Edmontonian. The project supports the people of Tsum. Tsum is a remote Himalayan valley in Nepal with no road access. It takes 7 days to walk in. Its extreme isolation has meant that too many of its Indigenous residents die from treatable issues and suffer without medical care. The Compassion Project is changing that. They currently staff and operate a health centre in Lamagaun Village (3,700 m) where they:
• Provide free healthcare
• Staff a qualified health worker
• Stock the centre with supplies
• Support maternal and infant care
They are 100% volunteer run. This charity deeply touched the founder of Ang Hill, Angie, and she will be visiting Tsum in spring of 2020.
