Ang Hill // Slow Fashion Brand

Ang Hill is a slow fashion brand. Slow fashion is the opposite of fast fashion, which involves rapidly and inexpensively producing mass quantities of runway styles/trends for quick, low-cost sales. This leads to the purchase of excessive amounts of low-quality clothing that is often worn only a handful of times before being thrown away. It often involves little or no regard for the workers who create the clothing (slavery still exists) and for the environment.

In contrast, slow fashion focuses on thoughtfully crafted, durable clothing that minimizes environmental impact and prioritizes the well-being of the workers.

Ang Hill is a slow fashion brand. We care about the planet and people. We recognize the importance of sustainability and ethics and believe that this is the future for fashion.

Manufacturing

We are transparent about our manufacturing processes. We are a small brand based out of Beaumont, Alberta, Canada. All pieces are designed in house by the owner and designer, Angie. We have a small team of sewists (Alberto and Sue - click HERE to read more) and a pattern maker (Ange) that make up our small team of 4. We also utilize a local Edmonton factory which is a team of two lovely women to create some of our pieces. We are just a short drive away from the factory, so we are able to oversea quality and ensure standards within the factory.

All of our pieces are made by hand in small batches and many pieces are made to order to eliminate excess inventory.

Fabrication

All pieces are made with high quality fabrics. Many of our pieces are made from sustainable fabrics including: Bamboo terry, bamboo jersey knit, tencel, lyocell, viscose and cotton. As more planet-friendly fabrics become available, we plan to continue incorporating more sustainable fabrics into our line.

All of our fabrics are OEKO-TEX certified meaning that no harmful dies were used during production. All of our fabrics are purchased from Canadian fabric supply companies.

These companies source their fabrics globally from certified textile mills.

Packaging

Our packaging is planet-friendly. Most orders are sent in biodegradable mailers. We use recyclable cardboard boxes for larger orders.

We limit unnecessary packaging materials and are continuously researching ways to be more planet-friendly.
